21. Evolving Picture
This activity is best done at a table or by using a clipboard and
passing it around. Have someone in your family draw a few lines or curves on a piece of
paper. Then pass the paper on to another member of the family to add to it. Continue this
process until the picture evolves into a finished product. It is okay to comment on what
people are drawing, but don't criticize what anyone adds. Let the art become what
everyone makes it.
22. Evolving Story
This activity is best done with a clipboard to hold several pieces
of paper. Have someone in your family begin a story with a single sentence. Pass the
clipboard to another member of the family to write a second sentence. Continue this
process until a short story is completed. It is funny to see how the story changes and to
see the personal touches that everyone adds to the story.
23. Family Funathon ~ See our Article on Funathon~
A Funathon is a marathon of fun. This is a day when the family
must put aside any daily cares and worries, because it is ONLY a day for fun. A Funathon
must be planned in advance (not on the day of the Funathon) because Funathon day is just
for fun. Plan several events that will fill the day with fun and have as much family fun
as you can.
24. Family Run or Jog
Running or jogging should be considered as part of a family
exercise program. You may find it difficult to keep everyone running the whole time, but
it is okay to take breaks in the run as you go. Work only as hard as your family is
comfortable. As long as everyone sets out knowing that the run or jog is for the purpose
of getting regular exercise, you will be on the right track. As with any exercise program
it is best to consult the advice of a physician to assure that the activity is
appropriate to everyone's individual health.
25. Family Walk
Family walks are usually not only for the purpose of exercise, but
are great when you consider the exercise you get from walking. A family walk should be
primarily considered as a chance to get out as a family to walk, talk, and enjoy being
outside of the normal box that everyone lives in. Get out and enjoy some time together
walking and enjoying the company of one another. The great thing about a family walk is
that it is something you can do anytime.
26. Fast Food Night
This is an indulgence that for the calories should not be done all
of the time, but for the reward should be allowed once in a while. Allow each member of
your family to pick a favorite fast food restaurant to where they would like to have
dinner. You may want to have your family write their favorite restaurant on a small piece
of paper and place the papers into a small container. Draw a restaurant name each time
you decide to have your fast food night. This will make the restaurant choice fair(always
be sure to shake up the papers before picking one).
27. Feed Ducks
There is something calming and rewarding about feeding ducks.
Although they are likely to find food on their own if you don't feed them, it is somehow
rewarding to feel like you have made their lives just a little bit easier by providing
them with a meal. One thing to keep in mind before feeding ducks, however, is that bread
is not good for ducks. Before feeding ducks you should go to a pet store or aggricultural
supply store and buy duck food that consists of cracked corn and small seeds. These are
more easily digested by ducks and will do them better in the long run. Find a pond or
lake with ducks and feed them something good.
28. Fishing
Whether it is from a boat or from shore and even if you don't
catch anything at all, fishing is a lot of fun for the family.

(see how many birds you get)
If you like watching birds, set up a bird house and/or a bird
feeder in the backyard. Hanging these from a tree or pole can provide birds with an easy
lunch while providing the family with an excellent view of flying visitors. See how many
of the birds you can identify. Take pictures and see if you can find them in books or on
the internet.
32. Go see a Play (theater)

college theater. Take your family to enjoy a play, musical performance, or other
theatrical show.

water.

Buy some large ice blocks from a grocery store and head for the
hills. Put a towel on top of the ice block to sit on and your in for a ride that rivals
sledding. You can have races and lot of laughs with this activity. Be sure the area you
ice block on is clear of trees or anything that you may run into.
40. Ice Skating
Ice skating is one of the funnest things you can do on ice. It
doesn't matter if you're any good at it. The idea is just to have fun. Help your kids if
they are a bit teetery on the ice.
