"Sugar Cookies"
Finally, a balance of softness and sweetness in a sugar cookie. These sugar cookies will bring you back for more. This sugar cookie recipe is great for rolling and cutting, yet it stays soft enough after baking to really enjoy.
| Sugar Cookie Ingredients |
1 Cup Granulated Sugar
1/2 Cup Shortening
1/2 Cup butter
2 Eggs
2 tsp Vanilla
1/2 tsp Salt
1 tsp Baking Soda
2 Tbsp Vegetable Oil
4 Cups All Purpose Flour
Cookie Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees fahrenheit.
Mix blue ingredients together thoroughly first.
Add black contents and mix in the order listed.
Wrap dough in wax paper and chill for 2 hours in the refrigerator.
Lay out wide strips of wax paper on a table and cover with a light dusting of
flour.
Roll dough out on the flour coated wax paper. Roll the dough with a dough roller
to a thickness of approximately 1/4 inch.
Use cookie cutters and cut the cookies to desired shapes.
Grease a cookie sheet with shortening.
Bake at 350 degrees fahrenheit for approximately 9 minutes until lightly browned.
Do not overcook.
Cookies will be slightly crisp outside and soft inside. |
| Frosting Ingredients |
1/4 Cup Butter
5 Cups Powdered Sugar
4 tsp Vanilla
4 Tbsp Milk
Frosting Directions
Mix frosting ingredients together by hand with a spoon until powder is uniformly
wet.
Mix with a power mixer until frosting is smooth.
Scoop frosting into bowls for different frosting colors.
Add food coloring to the bowls and mix in by hand.
