Commitment
"Set Into Stone"
by Wes Fessler
When a choice is made of value
it should be set into stone,
with a firmness of conviction
and a dedicated tone.
If strong measures are not taken
to stand up for what you choose,
you have already decided
that you're in the game to lose.
For a wandering heart is mindless
following its appetite.
And it ventures into danger
when the wrong appears as right.
It is wise to know your limits
and know when you're in too deep,
but you should not make a promise
that you don't intend to keep.
If you contemplate your journey
and set out upon the track,
make your mind sincere and certain
that you won't be turning back.
