Dating

"The Right One"

I am tired of dating,
but I cannot quit.
With each person I date
I don't know what I'll get.
Everything seems so perfect
before the first date.
We can talk. We can laugh.
Everything is just great.
But in time I discover
what they are inside.
There are things that come out
that they once tried to hide.
I am frightened away
by who they really are,
by their lack of respect
it's clear things won't go far.
I believe it is true
what they say in the myth.
You cannot live without,
and you can not live with.
But I can't give up yet,
for I still have a prayer,
that the person for me
is still somewhere out there.
So I keep going out
and I try having fun.
I just hope that one day
I will find the right one.
