"Why Do I Want"

Why do I want what I can't get?
Trying to grow, falling in debt.
All that I've done, little to show.
More that I learn, more I don't know.
My wife and child, counting on me.
Where are the things that come for free?
All of my time, just to get by.
Both of us work. People ask why.
Willing to do what it will take.
Hoping to find my lucky break.
Such great ideas. Why do they fail?
I'm just a dog chasing my tail.
But I'm a fool and I don't quit.
When life throws blows, I just get hit.
Why do I want what I can't get
All I can say is don't count me out yet.
