Honesty
"If Everyone Were Honest"
by Wes Fessler
If everyone were honest,
we could stop wasting our time.
We could learn to trust each other,
and we'd see the end of crime.
If everyone were honest
and somebody's car broke down,
we would not have a problem
giving them a ride to town.
If everyone were honest,
we could leave for weeks or more,
and we wouldn't have to panic,
'cause we didn't lock the door.
If everyone were honest
and a beggar asked for cash,
we would know he really needs it,
and we'd help him in a flash.
If everyone were honest,
there would be nothing to hide,
and we could all speak freely,
without keeping it inside.
If everyone were honest,
life would truly be the best.
If everyone were honest,
God would really be impressed. |
