"All Along It Was True "

Here we are still the same,
same old place, same old game.
Nothing's new, nothing's changed,
still it seems very strange.
All along it was true,
every path led to you.
Though some lured me to stray,
nothing turned me away.
For I knew deep inside,
there was no need to hide.
And I never before
felt so strong, or knew more.
I'd have someone to trust
when my world turned to dust.
And as time drifted by,
there was no question why;
we gave all that we had,
through the good and the bad.
Always finding a way
to grow closer each day.
With the give and the take
we held on for love's sake.
And our love was so strong
when we threw out the wrong.
Finding true harmony,
it was all meant to be.
Here we are still the same,
