Procrastination
"Worst Things First "
by Wes Fessler
Sometimes we put off doing things that we don't want to do.
We hope that they will get done by somebody passing through.
Or we may just ignore them, hoping they will go away.
We try to win the game when we're ahead, with our delay.
Sometimes this method works, the problems gets solved by itself.
But most problems get worse when we just place them on a shelf.
Our health is an example of something we can't let go.
If we don't take care of ourselves, it won't take long to show.
At least we'll smell like dirty socks, at worst we just might die.
Still many let their health decline, while idly standing by.
The same applies to many things we've put aside and cursed,
but everything is better when we do the worst things first.
For when the worst part's over, we can do what we enjoy,
'cause we've already done the things that bother and annoy.
And now the time is ours to use in any way we please.
We get much more accomplished when we put our minds at ease.
So if procrastination is the part that you've rehearsed,
you'll feel a whole lot better if you do the worst things first.
