Career

A 1998 graduate of Weber State University, Utah; with a Bachelor of Science in Sociology and Criminal Justice, Fessler is known for his inspirational and motivational writing. His first published work was a religious book of motivational poetry called Spiritual Thoughts (1996), a book of Christian perspective on a variety of inspirational topics.

Fessler's career and passion for writing were abruptly jolted into motion by an unexpected and challenging set of circumstances. While engaged in his business, a ladder fell out from under him and he fell 20 feet to the concrete below. The fall left him partially disabled and for a time unable to continue in the physcial labor of his construction business. His condition necessarily caused him to redirect his efforts into his true passion--the passion for writing. Without the use of his writing hand and arm, he wrote and illustrated a children's book called Alex the Alley Cat, a story about kindness (this story is available oniline for free at the following web address http://www.familyfunshop.com/shortmoralstorieskindness.htm). This book was sold to the public until Fessler recovered from his injuries sufficiently enough to work again.

After the accident, Fessler combined his writing career with his philanthropical ambitions and entrepreneurial interests. He established a family related retail and informational web site called Family Fun Shop. He formed his web site and its content with the goal of strengthening family relationships in the world. His web site offers family related products as well as an extensive collection of free family resources (including stories, poetry, articles, word games, and recipes). Fessler is continually adding new and original content to his web site that can be accessed for free. His writing is primarily inspirational in nature and includes a section of, Family Quotes, Family Poetry, and Short Moral Stories for Kids. His other works on the site include family related articles and recipes.

Personal Life

Fessler was born and raised in La Verne, California. He is the youngest of 5 children and the son of Glenn and Carol Fessler.

Upon completion of high school, Fessler served two years in volunteer missionary service in Australia and Papua New Guinea.

Wes Fessler was married in 1995 to Carrie Fessler, and happily reports that said relationship remains intact today. He and his wife are the proud parents of 3 daughters.

Fessler is a firm believer in the institution of family. Committed to the cause, he devoted his time and energy into building a wealth of resources for the strengthening of families. Through his life he noted that the mere condition of living under the same roof does not constitute family togetherness...quite the contrary in many cases. With television, video games, computers, and text messaging, a house full of isolated individuals can be the rule of family. Fessler's ambition is to bring recognition to the isolating behaviors that occur among families and instead be the cause of getting families together for fun.
